Literary Magazine Submissions

We are currently open to submissions of writing, art, and music until October 10th.

Our literary magazine publishes bi-monthly. We are looking for work that expresses honest opinions and emotional responses to timely and relevant personal or world issues. Please include a short statement of how your work applies to The Incandescent Review’s purpose in the first text box provided in the submissions portal. You are eligible for submission if you are between the ages of 13 and 24. 


We do not accept previously published work unless it has been published only in print or it has been recognized in a contest. Works from personal blogs or personal social media accounts are also accepted. We allow simultaneous submissions as long as we are notified at our email ( immediately after the piece's acceptance in another publication.


Submissions must go through Jotform. If you have any trouble with Jotform, please email your submissions to with the subject heading, "Attn: Submission."



  • Submit your work as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf.

  • Do not include the writer or artist’s name anywhere on the title box or document. We read all submissions name-blind.

  • All submissions must be in English. If you include words or phrases in another language, please include their English translations at the bottom of your submission.

  • Plagiarism is not allowed. We do not accept submissions that include slurs or hate speech.

  • We will accept no more than 3 pieces per genre per issue.




Prose: 11-12 point font, double-spaced, no more than six pages per submission


Poetry: 11-12 point font, single-spaced, no more than six pages per submission​




At least 300 DPI and at least 8' by 8' digitally. Please do not submit fan art.


Must include an artist's statement on the intention and inspiration behind the artwork. Type into the box titled "Enter your plain text-submission here" in Green Submissions.




Must be an mp3 audio link 1-5 minutes long.

Must be an original composition. We do not accept renditions of previously written pieces (including song covers).

Include a pdf of the lyrics or musical score and a statement from the composer on the intention and inspiration behind the piece, which should be typed into the box titled “Enter your plain text-submission here” in Green Submissions.
